I must however confess, the task was onerous. Constantly, we had to contend with seemingly conflicting interests, knowing that at the end we must find the right balance between theory and practice, global exposure and local experience, between disseminating knowledge and allowing students to actively participate in the knowledge discovery process, and between interactions with academics and those from the real world of work.

I am glad the special group of distinguished educators and domain experts succeeded in finding the correct balance.

Our faculty which consists of a set of remarkable people, close both to theory and practice, will endeavor that students not only acquire skills, tools and knowledge but also develop the correct judgment in their areas of specialization.

The achievements of our alumni in the real world will finally tell how well we succeeded in increasing the employability of India. And while that will only be known over time, one thing is certain, clinical research and pharmacovigilance education is getting a shot in the arm with the many innovations in education that we are bringing in."
